Despite huge public interest, UD had to cancel its unique school year-opening show in 2020, due to the Covid pandemic. However, yoUDay will be held this year, with the application of precautionary measures and in compliance with the pandemic rules. For the 5th time, students, university citizens and others interested can come and enjoy the spectacular show with a wide variety of programmes, including concerts performed by popular Hungarian stars at the Nagyerdei Stadium.
The list of performers showing up on stage at the school year-opening Stadium Show, which is unique in Hungary, includes Tankcsapda, Republic, and, accompanied by the Abrakazabra band, Kati Wolf, Évi Sári and Jennifer Szirota. Máté Gudics, singer of the Gamblers will sing the “Eye of the tiger.” As usual, visitors will also be entertained by dancers, including the Feeling Dance and Cheerleading Club, the R&B Dance Hip Hop School and the Piruett Dance Studio. The speakers will be the popular Animal Cannibals rap duo.
Show elements will include LED walls and pyrotechnics. The stage will be significantly larger than before, with a wider extension running into the audience area.
Following the concerts, which will last for about one and a half hours, a laser show will introduce one of the new features of this year’s yoUDay: The Stadium Disco with well-known DJs, who will entertain the audience for nearly an hour. As another new element, the winners of UDream, the online talent contest of UD, will also provide live performances
The gates of Nagyerdei Stadium will be opened at 18:30, and the show will begin at 19:30. Tickets are already available, at special prices for non-university citizens as well. Visitors will be required to have an Immunity Certificate.
