Following and due to a successful performance in the city of Kiev, Ukraine, Happy Karma Troupe of the Theatre of the University of Debrecen (DESzínház) is expected to continue their international success series in Canada, as their production Übü FC – A döntő [Ubu FC: The Final] (directed by Gábor Halmi) has been selected to be performed at one of the most significant festivals of the world of theatres.
This prestigious histrionic event, which is the festival of the world association of amateur theatres (AITA/IATA), is to be held in Saint John (Nouveau-Brunswick), Canada. The worldwide association, which was founded in Belgium in 1952, issues a call to amateur troupes and theatres selected by its joint selection committee every two years to comply with the theme words “openness” and “acceptance.”
Representing the University of Debrecen, the city of Debrecen, as well as the whole of Hungary, DESz-Vígkarma is going to participate in the festival whose event theme is “diversity” between August 26 and September 1, 2019.
