In addition to the Times Higher Education (THE) world ranking, the renowned British ranking company also produces several thematic lists, of which the results of the University Impact Ranking were published on Wednesday. The ranking assessed the social and economic impact of 1963 higher education institutions in 112 countries across 17 categories along the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The organisation ranked the University of Debrecen in 6 categories, which was ranked DE 301-400th overall. The institution scored best in the category Decent Work and Economic Growth, which examines universities' research on economic issues and access to apprenticeships and internships, moving up from 101-200 to 85th place.
UD has improved the most in the Quality Education category, with the newly published list placing UD in the 101-200 positions. Western Sydney University leads the overall THE 2024 list, followed by the University of Manchester and the University of Tasmania in second place and Aalborg University in fourth.
In addition to the University of Debrecen, the British ranking list includes the University of Szeged, Eötvös Loránd University, the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences and Széchenyi István University.
