Besides pharmacy and pharmacology, our institution has also been ranked in chemistry, mathematics, computer science and information technology.

In order to compile the QS World University Rankings by Subject, out of more than 5,200 institutions of higher education, as many as 1,747 were surveyed and ranked in five categories (Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management), covering 55 disciplines or subjects.

Just like it did last year, the University of Debrecen continues to maintain its position in the 401st-450th range in the ranking of life sciences and medicine. Within this category, however, as a new entrant, UD was ranked by the QS experts within the 351st-400th range in the field of pharmacy and pharmacology. In this segment, UD ranks 251-300 in agricultural sciences, holds its former position 351-400 in medical sciences and occupies a position 401-450 in biological sciences.

According to the 2025 ranking, our university is ranked between 501-600 in mathematics in the natural sciences thematic ranking and between 601-700 in chemistry, a new entrant in the ranking.

The University of Debrecen has also been included in the engineering and technology thematic rankings. In the field of computer science and information technology, UD was ranked 701-750 out of more than 2100 institutions.
