The two-day event, which was expanded to an international event, featured presentations by music teachers, educators, musicians and researchers on the experiences of the past year and the challenges of the future, in nine sessions at the DAB ( Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Debrecen) Headquarters.
Judit Váradi, Chairperson of the conference, Professor of the Faculty of Music at the University of Debrecen, emphasized in her welcome speech that the conference has been the only purely musical scientific event in Hungary since its inception. In the past, it was limited to music pedagogical issues, but in keeping with the times and in line with expectations, the programme is now also enriched by lectures on performing arts, musicology and music history.
- There is a shortage of teachers in our field, but arts education is very important and it is the responsibility of us all to find ways to make music attractive. I hope we will be able to tackle this problem and find a solution. That is why this conference is so important, where we can discuss the latest results and developments, broaden our horizons and find inspiration. We must work to make the value of music education and music life known and recognised," said Judit Váradi.
On Friday, Emőke Solymosi-Tari, a full member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, head of the Art Theory Section, was the guest of the conference, her presentation focused on the Discovering the Road series. On Saturday, Claire D. Nicholls, a lecturer at the University of Law and the Arts in South Queensland, Australia, presented her lecture Concert Pedagogy with Community and Professional Bands from an Australian perspective.

Among other topics, there was information on the career orientation of music students in higher education, a study of brass bands in Hungary in relation to adult community music learning, a study of musicianship in the upper classes of elementary schools, and the dimensions of rhythm learning.
