The possibilities for academic cooperation between Hungary and Cuba could be further expanded, in the interest of which the rectors of nine Cuban universities came to the Hungarian capital city to enhance this cooperation.
The heads of the institutions from this Central American island state met with László Pósán, Chairman of the Cultural Committee of the Hungarian Parliament, and György Kossa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen, in the Kunó Klebelsberg Hall of the Parliament.
During the course of the meeting, the participants discussed the remodeled system of Hungarian higher education and the foreign relations of the institutions involved in it. They also learned about the role of the University of Debrecen in the domestic and international education and research processes, its scholarly-scientific achievements and the experience of its cooperation to date.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees György Kossa presented the refurbished operating model of the University of Debrecen, the comprehensive science support program, in which the cross-border activities and experience acquisition of teachers and researchers play a key part, which can greatly contribute to increasing the international recognition of our institution.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen expressed his hope that the meeting could lead to new opportunities for cooperation, which could in turn strengthen the presence of the University of Debrecen in the overseas regions.
