“When we accept you as our colleagues after you have taken your oath, your first thought would need to be one of gratitude. Gratitude to all those who have helped you become doctors,” said László Mátyus, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Debrecen, in his ceremonial speech.
László Mátyus emphasized that the recent graduates possess the modern knowledge that enables them to meet the requirements set for physicians. At the same time, the dean pointed out that meeting these demands and expectations requires continuous learning and self-education. The professor added that the University of Debrecen has always been characterized by stability and uninterrupted development, the same way it has always been open to novel ideas, while preserving the values of medical education and remaining ready for further development.
